Introduction

Thank you for visiting the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation website. ASK recognizes that visitors to this website are concerned about their privacy. We are committed to preserving your privacy when visiting this website and will not at any time release any information to unauthorized third parties.

This policy describes ASK's privacy practices regarding information collected from persons who access this website. This policy also describes what data is collected and how that information is used. ASK may, at its sole discretion, change, modify, add, or delete portions of this policy.

Types of Information Collected When You Visit This Site

Non-Personally Identifiable Information. While you are browsing, your computer automatically provides certain "navigation" information to every Website you visit, including the ASK Website. This information does not personally identify you. Even when it might, ASK does not try to discover or use your identity. The logs that contain this information are analyzed and summarized to obtain aggregate data on site traffic and usage. This aggregate information is used to determine site performance, identify areas of public interest, to detect errors and to make the site more user friendly. This navigation information includes:

  • The Internet Protocol (IP) address. This is the Internet's address for your particular computer. A website's computer must know your IP address so the site can send the web page you ask to view.
  • Your domain name, which is the three letters that follow the dot in a URL (uniform resource locator) such as com, gov, net, org, rr, edu, etc.
  • The ASK web pages that you viewed.
  • The types of files you requested (html, text, graphic, pdf, etc.).
  • How you found the ASK website and whether you were referred by another site.
  • Which search engine(s) brought you in and any keywords that you may have used to arrive at our site.
  • The web-browsing software that you are using and whether it is current enough to allow you to view our content.
  • The depth of your visit (the pages, subpages and internal links visited).
  • The length of time you spent on our website.
  • Whether you were unable to access a particular page
  • The type of computer and operating system that you are using, for example, a PC, UNIX or a Mac machine.

Cookies

The ASK website and components do not use "cookies." Cookies are files or entries in files placed on the hard drive of a person who is browsing a site. Such entries are used and maintained by the site's software for various purposes. The ASK site also does not use "third party" cookies, which track the pages accessed by the browser after the individual has left the site nor does ASK collect or retain data on the referring page when an individual browser accesses the contents of the ASK site. ASK does collect aggregate information on the referring pages when visitors access our site.

Links Disclaimer

ASK provides many links to other websites. These links are provided as a convenient way for the public to obtain additional data from other resources. Once you link to another website from this website, you are subject to the terms and conditions of that website, including, but not limited to, its privacy policy.
